SLV Pride Month!

The SLV PrideFest is back and better than ever! Here is a list of activities that you can participate in for PrideFest!

August 1-31 - Come see art from local LGBTQ+ artists at Milagros Coffee House 529 Main Street in Alamosa (corner of State Ave. & Main St.) The art show will hang all month! There will be a special reception on August 21st at Milagros Coffee House from 5 - 6:30 PM. Come out and meet your next favorite artist!

August 22 - Join us and Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative at the Cole Park South Pavilion from 4 - 6 PM for a Reading Party! Bring a book, a blanket, chair, or pillows, and settle in for a sensory-friendly time reading books in company with friends! Light snacks and beverages will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! 

August 22 - Get ready to hoedown at the SLV Pride & SLV Tea Spot Kick-Off Party! The party starts at 8 PM at the SLV Tea Spot 407 State Ave, Suite B in Alamosa and goes till 2 AM! Put on your dancing boots and boogie!

August 23 - Dress up in your favorite Pride gear and get ready to celebrate! Location meet up at the Alamosa Library parking lot. This is a walking parade, and the kick off starts at 10 a.m. Be sure to stop by the swag table for even more Pride gear so we can PAINT THE TOWN QUEER

August 23 - Come out and support the local LGBTQ+ community in a joyful celebration of love! This is will held at Cole Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-oriented event will have a DJ, drag performers, comedy, food, vendors and more!

Well behaved leashed dogs welcome!

August 23 - Want to keep the pride party going? Get ready to 'finish hoeing down' at the SLV Tea Spot After Party! While PrideFest ends at 4 pm, the after party is just getting started! Get ready to keep on boogyin' y'all till midnight at the Tea Spot 407 State Ave, Suite B in Alamosa!

August 24 - Come out and enjoy a post PrideFest Drag Brunch at The San Luis Valley Brewing Co! Buffet style brunch is included and a cash bar will be available.

August 27 - Join us and Adams State University to celebrate the bringing of the History Colorado Rainbows & Revolutions exhibit to the Cloyde Snook Galley on ASU Campus! There will be a reception to see the collection, learn more about the collection, and to hear from SLV and greater Colorado changemakers from 6 - 8 PM at the Gallery!

In 2024, she was honored as Colorado’s Breakthrough Drag Artist, a testament to her innovative style and impactful outreach. Whether dazzling on stage or advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, Aria embodies resilience, creativity, and community spirit, proving that the power of drag knows no boundaries.

Carly Quinn

The clown princess of Albuquerque, born and raised in Alamosa, Colorado! From co-producing Queerly Disturbed, hosting all over New Mexico and producing the New Mexico Draggy Awards, there is nothing stopping the roll of this clown! Once a Mean Moose, always a Mean Moose!

Jaided

Jaided is an androgynous, fashion queen with a sharp tongue and fierce attitude. She doesn’t just take up space, she owns it. Whether she’s breaking hearts or taking names, she lives life unapologetically and with a healthy dose of sass. Get ready for a wild ride, because she’s here to slay.

Suavecito

Hello, it’s Suavecito! I am a San Luis Valley resident, born and raised! I've been doing drag for 2 years strong now and achieved awards I am truly blessed and thankful to say. I won Mr. Dragrango in 24’ and then won the King award for the Colorado Divas awards for 2025! I love doing what I do, I love engaging with the crowd to see their smiles and them dancing along with me. That makes it all worth it and more! I love the support my town shows and how they have showed up for me in this!

MIX TRIX

MIX TRIX is a drag thing from Durango, Colorado, artistically bending gender with every stitch, stroke, and strut. You might encounter them as a beautiful blooming flower, a pride piñata, a fierce fungi, or whatever wild muse inspires their next transformation. With each look, MIX proves that gender is a playground, not a box. MIX TRIX, and their amazing drag house, showcase drag across rural Southwest Colorado, creating vibrant spaces for self-expression, celebration, and queer joy in communities that need it most.

Slymm Jymm

Slymm Jymm is the two spirit king of the four corners! Slymm has been performing for over two years with over 35 shows in Colorado and New Mexico. He currently holds the 2025 "Trans-Trailblazer" DIVA Award and is a "One CO trans change maker". As a loud and proud advocate for their Two Spirt and gender diverse communities within border towns. His past years work included passing HB25-1312 (Kelly Loving act Transgender Bill of Rights) and HB25-1309 which places further protections for trans health care. Additionally, he works with BIPOC and 2SLGBT+ youth as Mental Health Outreach Specialist for the Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center. As the King of the Four Corners he dedicates his drag and advocacy work to making rural and border town communities friendly places for the 2SLGBT + community!!

Jasmine H Sexton

Jasmine H Sexton is a dynamic Drag Performer who focuses on High Energy Fun Performances.

As a child of immigrants, Jasmine loves to pay homage to her heritage and bring in cultural references to all of her performances. As a top finalist in Denver's premiere Drag Competition Ultimate Drag Competition, Jasmine has shown that through perseverance, determination and strong since of self anything and everything is possible.

CHEER COLORADO

CHEER Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to show up for, positively impact, and further strengthen the Colorado LGBTQIA+ community. Their awe-inspiring cheer performances, creative philanthropy, and dedicated volunteers have not only earned them the trust and partnership of the local LGBTQIA+ community but also allowed them to support it in return through over $116,000 in donations since their 2017 founding

Astro

DJ Astro is an american open format DJ performer and producer from Colorado who has invaded the stages of clubs and festivals accross america since 2020. Also the founder of Bemore Entertainment (est. 2015), Astro has worked with well known celebrities including Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugz-n-Harmony, Shaquille O'neal (DJ Deisel), Pitbull, T.I., and DaBaby; and on many projects such as Shaq's Funhouse Miami, Gronks Beach, Supernatural Festival, and the Denver 420 Festival.
